April 30 - May 2 Geek Play Therapy Summit

The 2026 Geek Play Therapy Summit is a live, interactive online gathering for therapists who want their clinical work to feel as creative, relevant, and alive as the worlds their clients inhabit.

Across three days (April 30–May 2), the summit brings together leading voices in geek-informed and play-based therapy to explore how video games and virtual worlds, fandoms, manga, KPop, and storytelling can support connection, identity exploration, grief work, and healing with children, adolescents, and adults.

I’m excited to be presenting on ‘Creating Accessible Play Therapy Spaces for Neurodivergent Clients in Minecraft’ and will be exploring how Minecraft can be used as a digital environment within play therapy to support regulation, communication, and relationship-building through the Therapeutic Powers of Play.

Whether you’re a lifelong geek, geek-adjacent, or simply curious about how to better understand the pop culture and digital ecosystems your clients live in, this summit offers practical, affirming, and genuinely inspiring continuing education you can immediately bring into your work.

Hosted by the nonprofit A New Hope Academy, the summit is part of their mission to make mental health training more engaging, inclusive, and culturally responsive by integrating the transformative power of pop culture, play, and storytelling into clinical practice.
